Automated Session Management
Context preserved in databases, not chat history. Your AI assistant remembers—permanently.
The Problem It Solves
Context Loss: AI assistants get 'dumber after compaction.' Context windows fill, sessions end, and everything learned disappears.
How It Works
CleanAim captures context in a persistent database—not the AI's context window. Architecture decisions, coding standards, learned patterns, and project-specific knowledge survive across sessions, compactions, and model switches.
The Session Handoff Protocol automates transitions between sessions. When one ends, critical context is extracted and prepared for the next. When a new session starts, relevant knowledge is injected automatically.
A symlink (LATEST-SESSION.md) always points to the most recent handoff document. New sessions read this first, ensuring continuity without manual re-explanation.
Key Components
Session Handoff Documents
Structured markdown capturing what was completed, decisions made, and next steps. Auto-generated at session end.
Context Database
Persistent storage for architectural decisions, patterns, and project knowledge outside the context window.
LATEST-SESSION Symlink
Always points to most recent handoff. New sessions start by reading this for instant context restoration.
Orphan Pairing Service
Even aborted sessions get their predictions paired with outcomes. No context is ever truly lost.
